University of Nigeria, Nsukka, SUG Election Timetable Schedule

 The Students’ Union, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Electoral Commission (UNECO), Thursday, 2nd February, officially announced the schedule of events for the conduct of the upcoming 2016/2017 Students’ Union Government elections.

Through a message released and published on the official information site of the Students’s Union Government, University of Nigeria, Nsukka by Comrade Okeke Chibueze O., Information officer, SUG, UNN and signed by Prof. Uju Umo, Dean, Students Affairs Department and Chairman, UNESCO, interested candidates in various positions in the SUG are to visit the Student Affairs Department to pick their nomination forms and submit within a stipulated time-frame after filling and including all the required documents, details and signatures as stated in the nomination form.

The Timetable is listed below:
Monday 6th –9th February, 2017
9am-3.30pm daily
Collection and submission of Nomination forms for the House of Representative, Senate and Executive Council positions.

Friday, 10th February, 2017
2:00pm
Submission Ends

Monday 13th –Tuesday 14th February, 2017
9a.m. – 3.30 p.m. daily
Screening of Candidates for House of Representative

Wednesday, 15th February, 2017
9am – 3:30pm
Screening of Candidates for Senate

Thursday, 16th February, 2016
9am – 3:30pm
Screening of Candidates for Executive Council Positions

Friday 17th February, 2017
2:00pm
Publication of lists of cleared candidates for House of Representative, Senate and Executive Council

Saturday 18th February, 2017 – Monday 20th February 2017
7am – 10:00pm
Campaigns for all positions

21st February, 2017
12:00noon
Manifesto for Executive positions after which campaign stops

Wednesday, 22nd February, 2017
9a.m. – 12noon
Accreditation, followed by Elections and Counting of Votes
Announcement of Results
Inauguration date to be announced later
